Baltimore Orioles Baseball Cuff!

I have decided to offer a "WIP", (work in progress), of a "Baltimore Orioles Baseball Cuff" I designed and now weaving, on a loom.

You can see how I have extended the helmet and ball, both of which were not added after the actual weaving, of each row, but included in the length of the bead rows, when added. This is new to me and so glad I have perfected a way to extend the pattern, without using a hand weaving stitch. This method even moves much faster along, than if hand woven, along the edge.

Originally, I was only going to extend the base ball, portion of this design, but after tweaking the extensions "on the loom", I decided to also extend the helmet. Adding warps was all it took.

I'll share more later, as I complete this cuff.

"Weaving Along the Warps!"

I warped my loom, with C-Lon Tex 400, grabbed just about every type of bead, unknown to a bead loom, and began weaving along the warps.

Creating a wide width, I attached two box claps, instead of finagling to find one large one. You may also notice the perfect color match. This was acquired by using 'Gilder's Paste', in a dark red tone, or clay.

Included, in the array of weavings, are some Super Duos, 4mm and 6mm glass pearls, 3mm press glass beads, 11/0 and 15/0 seed beads, just to name a few.

The lighter portion, of woven Super Duo, two hole beads, have given me an idea for a new cuff theme.....stay tuned :D

"Tweed Cuff" in blues, too!

While away, this past weekend, I made up one more color way, for the upcoming class, in July.

OK, I admit, I also love making this style cuff! Works up quite fast and feels so comfortable to wear. The layering, of beads, offers a stiffer body, to the entire cuff. The double toggles are much easier to put on your wrist, yourself, too.

I'll take some pictures, during the class, to share how others recreate their favorite color way.

"Neon Tweed", offering a wonderful 'Jolt'!

I created another "Tweed Cuff", for the July Class, (@ Bead Soup, July 6th & 7th) hoping to offer a view, of using 'different bead sizes' and a 'Neon Color way'. Now, the Students get a better idea, of how the 'accent bead' sizes change the feel, of this cuff. The change in color way, well that is sooooo totally new for me. I am such a 'muted' color designer, but love the 'jolt' these Neon's are giving me, right now!!

These magnetic clasps are the best I have seen so far!

Weaving "Tweed", on a Loom Class.

I am hearing the class, for June, at BEAD SOUP, which includes the "Tweed" cuff, on a Loom, is filling up very quickly! This is very exciting, but we may need to steel chairs, from the Factory Grill, if this keeps up!

I am working on a similar cuff design, with a different color way. Since this class allows for each student to select their own colors, I thought I would share color combination. Weaving Tweed on a Loom, July 6th & 7th!

My fifth class, at BEAD SOUP, in Savage Mills Maryland, is now worked out. This cuff is called "Tweed".

Two classes ago, each Student picked out their own color ways, for the cuff. It was such a success, that this class will also be up for your 'personal color interpretation'!

Can't wait to see everyone, July 6th and 7th....

The lastest Delica Colors!

The wonderful owner of Bead Soup, in Savage Mills Maryland, has gifted me these gorgeous Delicas! Their latest line, now numbering in to the 2000's. Most, if not all, are color lined. Some neon, with a clear glass coating. Other's are color lined with a color glass coating. These are awesome!!
